Sept 29th, 2010

Good Morning everyone!!!!!

HOW amazing I feel today !!! YAY!!! Resting worked !!

I was able to achieve a track workout last night, 8 miles, while seeing a few friendly faces. It was sooo nice to run fast again and also be able to accomplish it. Of course, I was not as happy with my performance, yet, thats OK. I am coming back into it after a much needed break.

Here is what I ran last night:

One mile warm up
3 x's 800 M with 400 M cool down
10 x's 400 M with 200 M cool down
One mile cool down

Thanks to everyone I seen last night. It was nice to see a familiar face that had some troubles with a hamstring!!

Today - I think I will take it a bit easier and do a circuit with some cross training :O) * Oh and the dog is going to the salon!!

Push on dear friends push on and remember: ANYTHING you put your mind too is POSSIBLE

Sept. 26th, 2010

Dearest readers,

I have been completely buried with work and the bloggin has obviously not been well taken care of.

Let me share with you what was done on Sept. 26th.

I was able to complete 13.5 miles!!!! It was a beautiful long run with some great company!! Sam and Adam from Team R.E.D. joined me for some much welcomed company!!! How great it is to run with others - -not only do we get to know one another on a much deeper level, we also don't realize the time !!!

It started out a bit chilly, yet, I shared with the boys, that it would warm up after a mile or two. I think it was around 40 degrees. Our body temp's will add 20 degrees, after a bit. So I knew we'd be good to go shortly there after!! WE were completely amazed at the 60 degrees weather when we returned to our vehicles!! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY!!!

I am truly grateful for the opportunity to run with such amazing people as well as completing a new PR for the longest I have ever ran :O)

My legs are feeling back to normal and I am not as tired/fatigued as I was before after the running. The break has helped tremendously!! Of course, my head really wanted to get down on myself, yet, my body is my temple and I need to care for it!!!! * Plus, if I am burned out OR injured than I will not be able to run AT ALL!!!

Today is track day, my friends!!

PUSH ON PUSH ON!!! ( with caution of course !! )

Hugs to you all

Sept. 21st, 2010

Hello Friends.

Looks like I am a bit behind on blogging!!

I was gone this weekend and I was able to run with my good friend, Sharyce, who is now getting into running !!!! She helped me pull in the last of my long run on Sunday. ( 10 miles )

I was also asked to back off a little bit from the training, as my muscles are sore lately. Supposedly I have been pushing my body a bit much. So, the suggestions were to back off some and rest a little bit. Which you know .. really .. I would rather rest up a little bit than burn out completely and or get injured!! I have along ways to go.. if I am going to try to pull in a half marathon and then a full in Feb..

Today I will hit the hills and then the intense workouts will be over for the week. There will be a few base runs and a long run on Sunday.

I will keep you all posted, of course!! For I need to move forward -- not take steps backwards!!!

Thanks for stopping by today !! Hope you have a fabulous Tuesday!!

Sept. 15th, 2010

Today was an easy day. Well, it felt difficult, yet it was an easy day.

I was able to run 3 miles with my friend, Tom. That was nice... the muscles and body were a little sore today, I believe its from the track work out last night as well as the miles are definitely increasing for me.

Its OK. I will take a complete 24 hrs off and then do a run, a free 5K, tomorrow evening with Team R.E.D. at the Mayo Open.

I am bit worn out so I am going to close with that for the night.

Put your mind to it and just do it !!

Sept. 14th, 2010

Holy Hannah !! My feet are not happy with me tonight !!

I was able to take around 40 min for a circuit, including the eliptical for 15 min., for my lunch today. Than I was able to hit the track. WOW!! This is what my workout was, which is considered the ladder:

1 mile warm up
400 M @ 1:50 ( 200 M cool down )
800 M @ 3:45 ( 400 M cool down )
1200 M @ 5:28 ( 800 M cool down )
1600 M @ 7:25 ( 1200 M cool down )
1200 M @ 5:48 ( 800 M cool down )
800 M @ 3:47 ( 400 M cool down )
400 M @ 1:47 ( 200 M cool down )
1 mile cool down

Now that was a workout !! AND I DID IT :O)

Its really funny, once I stop and think about things. You put a schedule in front of me and I just seem to do it. Excuses are really not an option once I have a goal put forth. It seems that I am very goal driven. With my family, friends and not to forget to the most important one: My HP, I can accomplish anything put in front of me to do.

You can TOO !! IF I CAN YOU CAN!!!

Push on dear friends -- push on!!

Monday Sept 13th, 2010

Hello !

Today I ran 5 miles.

* I was only going to write that, but than I realized there was a bit more to it than only the 5 miles. There was the hills that I climbed as well as pushing the last two miles ( 3 to 4 to see if I could hold a good pace that far after running 3 and then the last one hit the last half mile hard, with a hill in there and pulling it in at 6:50 pace ). Course in training I am learning that really I should have spread that energy out into each mile, but today, I had some fuel that just seemed to kick in around that time. Thanks anger for that.

Push on dearest friends, push on !

Sept 12th, 2010

What an absolutely amazing morning for a run :O)

A few us of met in Rochester and ran the Douglas Trail. We took off and then took a small break in Douglas ( water/Gatorade ) and back on the trail. To come in at the end for a total 10 miles :O)

The trail was beautiful to run on and the weather was excellent to run in. It was also very nice to have been joined by Sam and Adam, both Team R.E.D. members. This helped the run go by faster than being there on my own.

Plus, to my surprise, it was both of their first time running this distance :O) They did great for a long run !! We took it slower and easy, as I hit hard last night on the 5K and its been a long week for me.

I will have now completed a total 35.5 miles this week. My body is a doing amazing well, for that many miles, where I would think it would be in shock. And yet, its not. What else I find a bit interesting is that the 5K went by MUCH faster than I am used!! Something is working running all these miles and the harder workouts!!

The hard work pays off :O) It really does, people!!!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, my dearest friends!!

Big Hugs sent out to you all!!
