Jan. 3rd, 2011
Today was a good day :O)
I was able to get in a 3.5 miler.
It was nice to enjoy the snow falling -- yet -- I wish I would have put on my spikes to run. AS I seemed to hit a few ice patches that I did not notice under the fallen snow. I did NOT fall, tho :O)
I am excited to get back into training. I know that it will not take long for my body to understand we are running again and to adjust to the difference. Waiting, on the other hand for this to occur, is a different story!! HA !! Good thing I have my Team R.E.D. members to vent on !!
I was able to share my running experience over the weekend with some beautiful women -- it felt amazing to hear what they see and to be able to share where and how I got to where I am today!!
The best thing I heard was:
If YOU can do it -- SO can I!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
* PUSH on dear friends -- PUSH ON!!

Good Morning to all of my followers !!!
What an amazing beginning to a year !!! I was able to be blessed to complete a 5k on 1/1/11!!! Yet, it was not a PR - it was something that I have never done !! For it was horrible wind chill and freezing!! I was able to run with the spikes that I had purchased as well as the new winter gear!!!
The year of 2010 was amazing for me for my second year in running ( tech. began running in '09). This year, 2011, is going to be that much more phenomenal !! Heres the list of races at this time:
Feb - Half Marathon in Austin TX
May - Full Marathon in Roch. MN
June - Half Marathon in Seattle WA
Let us see what else there is to throw in there. I may also do a warrior run in the summer as well :O)
This is going to be a GREAT year with AMAZING things happening !! I am not only saying this for the running part of life, I am saying this for the entire life in itself!!
Lets DO this thing!!

Christmas Day 2010
What a blasted miracle and year !! I have been reflecting and looking at what I have accomplished and also where I am today.
I am truly grateful to have ran as much as I have during this year of 2010. There was the Half in Seattle, the 5K in Zumbrota, the Half in Mankato and other shorter runs I am forgetting. There is a year of lessons learned as well as many great memories ( aka: Joining TEAM R.E.D ) !!
If you follow my blog, you will have noticed that I have not blogged for quite some time. I believe that recently, until about a week ago, I was becoming more an more convinced it would be a very long time before I actually ran again. OR wondering what I would be able to do, cardio-wise.
I was diagnosed with Petallar Tendinitis, a while back after I was diagnosed with ITBS in my right leg. As I crossed the finish line from the half in Mankato in Oct., I was in much pain. This pain did not go away after a few weeks. So it was suggested that I go into see a Sports Med Doc.. I did so, first ITBS then a few weeks later, Tendinitis.
I have been in physical therapy ever since I was diagnosed with ITBS.
It has been suggested that I run, not over 5 miles at a time, each day or when it does not hurt. This excites me!!! I am putting in around 2 to 3 miles per day - missed yesterday - since Wed.. So I am very pumped to be getting back into my exercise regimen :O)
I will begin training for a half marathon, which is Feb. 20th. in Austin TX.. I need to remember, for its difficult for me to remember that, for I am definitely the competitive type. Course I am really only in competition with myself -- HA !!
I will begin tracking on here once again, for now I am becoming excited and I need to remember its only mileage for now. The speed work will come in time. I will be a rock star, again ( in my eyes ) == yet in TIME!!
Merry Christmas to you all and to all a good night !!

ITBS
Hello --its been awhile since I have blogged, as I have been off of the exercise regimen and onto the healing process.
After I ran the Mankato Half I was feeling alot of pain in the right knee. After two weeks of no running, it still seemed to bother me after going up and down the steps. It was strongly suggested that I go into to see a sports med doc.. So I followed through and I was diagnosed with ITBS and I was referred to a Physical Therapist.
I have seen the PT for 2 wks now and I was able to jog this past weekend. There was pain while jogging and also afterwards. I seen the PT today and he did more ultra sounding on the IT and also some major digging to get the knots out of it and loosen it. I was also given orthos so that I can correct my heels, as they tip in.
I am hoping to get into running, slowly, and without pain.
This is going to take time.
This week I am able to jog with intervals as well continue my stretches and exercises twice per day with 3 reps of them at these times.
I will go back to the PT on Friday for more digging and also a reval. Than we will take it from there.
The full in Austin TX is up in the air, yet, time will only be able to tell.
Well -- thats the facts...now for the feelings... I have been up and down. AS once I was able to actually move my legs and get going a little bit, my mood changed incredibly.
I will do as told for I want to be able to run again, without pain!
I have realized that I completely enjoy running and all the exercises that I am unable to do at this time, yet, I can continue biking and the appropriate exercises in order to maintain my sanity.
Its all about getting better now.

Nov. 2nd, 2010
As you can see, I have not blogged since I ran the half in 'Kato.
I have been fighting a bit of IT pain. Actually, alot.
I have been told to rest.
This does NOT sit well with me.
Instead :
Beginning yesterday, I am now back at the exercise regimen.
I was able to put some time in on the bike yesterday as well as on the weights. I will be focusing on the bike this week and the weights. Right now it is a week by week basis. As this IT is very painful at this point and if I continue to run I would injure it and it would continue to be painful, forever, I would assume. Suggestions are where its at .. at this point in my life. Which is OK as I have been here before with different experiences in life.
I am going to continue to work on the cardio and core part of my body. This way, if and when this pain subsides, I will be ready to RUN!!!
There is still plans for the full in Feb in TX.
Time will tell with all of that.
On a side note: realizing that I ran the half, PR'd and finished, on an injury boosts my self confidence much more. As Now I know that my time was AMAZING with this in mind !! YAY!!!
Keep on pushin, my dear readers, keep pushin on!!!
