ITBS

Hello --its been awhile since I have blogged, as I have been off of the exercise regimen and onto the healing process.

After I ran the Mankato Half I was feeling alot of pain in the right knee. After two weeks of no running, it still seemed to bother me after going up and down the steps. It was strongly suggested that I go into to see a sports med doc.. So I followed through and I was diagnosed with ITBS and I was referred to a Physical Therapist.

I have seen the PT for 2 wks now and I was able to jog this past weekend. There was pain while jogging and also afterwards. I seen the PT today and he did more ultra sounding on the IT and also some major digging to get the knots out of it and loosen it. I was also given orthos so that I can correct my heels, as they tip in.

I am hoping to get into running, slowly, and without pain.

This is going to take time.

This week I am able to jog with intervals as well continue my stretches and exercises twice per day with 3 reps of them at these times.

I will go back to the PT on Friday for more digging and also a reval. Than we will take it from there.

The full in Austin TX is up in the air, yet, time will only be able to tell.

Well -- thats the facts...now for the feelings... I have been up and down. AS once I was able to actually move my legs and get going a little bit, my mood changed incredibly.

I will do as told for I want to be able to run again, without pain!

I have realized that I completely enjoy running and all the exercises that I am unable to do at this time, yet, I can continue biking and the appropriate exercises in order to maintain my sanity.

Its all about getting better now.

Push on dear friends, push on!!
