January 2nd, 2012

Time to start planning a run for the weekend. Sometimes, it seems as though planning the run is way more work then the run itself. One could DEFINITELY back out per that statement, yet, I am NOT willing to give up what I have worked sooo hard for !! So, plans begin!!

I was able to run yesterday, 4 miles, with my dearest friend Val. It's so nice to know that people want to run beside you and that you are one of thier many choices :O) She is becoming more an more stronger in her running and I am super proud of her!!

Today I was able to endure the wonderful Sherry and her training she puts together for my muscles and the definetion I request. My arms/shoulders are becoming sooo well, rounded and very nice looking!!! I do have to say she has done some amazing work!!

My body is definetly feeling all the changes in miles and the more working out. I am a wee bit tired then usual and the hunger is absolutely not lacking, by any means. It's almost time for a trip to the nutriotional store to stock up on the protien and supplements.

I will be starting to work with others more, with personal training and classes soon. I am very excited to put to use what I have learned and help the world once again.

ONWARD my dearest friends -- >> ON WARD!!! Its that first step, not the entire staircase, remember :O)

January 30th, 2012

Well, there is one more day after today to put in miles and lose more calories. I am pretty happy with all that I have accomplished in 2012, for running, thus far. I am not sure that I have ever started a year off with so many miles and calories burned!!!

Today was a nice 4 miler in the wonderful 40 degree weather. Man did it feel good to put on the tunes and just run!!! Do not get me wrong, I love running with others, but I entirely enjoy running by myself. I know when my body feels good, I know when it doesn't, I know when the right song is on and when my steps are just right. I just seem to be able to be one with the world when it's me and the pavement.

Hopefully you have a wonderful day planned in front of you tomorrow!! I have a new challenge that I have signed up for to help out a local runner. Maybe you would be interested as well, to help boost some motivation ??

This is to get children more involved in fitness :O) And them seeing it work ..Jim is also a teacher in a local school as well.

Help someone out that needs a lending hand, one way or another. Once you give of yourself, you will be amazed at what happens next.

January 29th, 2012

17 miles baby !! The longest I have ever endured in my life !!! YAY !!! Not only was that the fantastic thing that happened, I also added up the miles and the calories that I have achieved in Jan. '12. Here's those numbers:

Calories: 8000 ( rounded, for I am missing a few miles here and there - also this is only with running, not including any other exercises )
Running Miles: 80.2

Well, now that's a great way to start my year !! If I were to continue with the mileage, I might actually hit 1100 - 1200 miles :O) That would be fantastic!!!

I have also agreed to run an ultra ragnar this year. That's a 6 man team, instead of the 12 man team that I ran with last year. This will mean, up to, if not more then, 26 miles per person!! I am completely honored AND extremely excited and nervous. Course I will complete it .. but lets see how I really do!!

Not sure if my running is taking off, getting better or if I am becoming stronger. Yet, I do know that I am putting in the miles and doing the work. Now lets see where I am at in Feb.. I have signed up for a half that is going to be held in Rochester, MN.. So, the weather may not cooperate, and in that sense I have not put a goal time on it. Only to finish and just see where I am at this time of year.

I almost have my list complete of 20 races in 2012. Let's see what I am able to add. This year is more of a challenge, not only the races, but the budgetting. Running/Racing gets expensive. So, this year I have opted to work on my muscles, stay closer to home to help with the pocket book and also to work more on being a mom instead of an athlete.

Time will tell with it all.

Until next time my dearest readers!!

NEVER EVER allow anyone to take from you what you are able to do for yourself!!

I say this for the past two weeks have been literally hell at work and I allowed my J.O.B. to take away my break times!! WTH for -->> NO idea! But what did I realize ?? That I need my exercise and breaks!!!!

On Sunday I was able to hit 7.6 outside and then finish up 12 miles on the dreadmill. I chose to get a sitter and man alive, I do NOT regret it!!!

This Saturday, I will attempt 17 with my running buddies ... but until then there are a few days and those I plan on hitting the runs/exercises up to twice per day. It's time to get real or get out!!!

As well as that, I am also studying for the NASM PT certification and let me tell ya !! I have much more admiration for those in the health feild !! OOOFTA -- we have alot of muscles, joints, tendons and so on that work together. To be able to teach one to exercise correctly, seems to incorporate alot of knowledge. Good thing I have a FAB teacher -- My trainer!!

Life rocks, only when you take care of you and put the most important person first !! If you do not allow yourself you -- you will lose everything else in life!!!

ONWARD -- ONWARD !!

Top of the morning to you!!!

I waited to post, since my Garmin was MIA and I wanted to make sure to log it via DM. Now that I have it all programed in, its time to share the 14 miler ( 13.87 ).

I was able to run with my new found friend, Jennifer, again on Saturday morning. It was a bit chilly but NO WIND and that was good. Since it was in the negatives, we wouldn't have had enjoyed ourselves, I do not believe, if there were that wind and we had to battle it!! Eitherway, another long down!!

Now I need to work on stretches and also getting in the shorter runs an also some other exercises this week. It's time to begin the excess training!!!

Hope you all had a productive weekend and enjoyed yourselves.

Upward and ONWARD!!!

January 9th, 2012

Today was a good day for some hill work.

As the training now begins to take place, we are off. I ran a total of 3.3 miles today with my good friend, Val. She is doing amazingly well, in her new and loved sport of running :O) She joined me today for my noon run and it was good. We hit some wind, I loved it, as I am learning how to run in it well...

Soon, I will add in track workouts and tempo runs. It's time to get at it -- May is not that far off and in order to make it, successfully, through 26.2 miles..I am going to put my all into it!!! That means mucho hours of training and mucho dedication. Which, I am more then capable of doing -- just NO excuses!!!

I am currently working on lining up weekend runs with those that will help out and also those that love to run, as I do. I am also willing to drive to them, so that I am able to make it easier on them, since they are willing to put in the mileage with myself.

This upcoming weekend, we go longer, again. Hit 15 and up, up, up from there!!! We are OFF an training!!

Hopefully you are all gaining some motivation somewhere along the lines -- >> If NOT hit me up on Facebook : Lori Juette Yokiel ( Belaen ) or on Twitter @ LoriJBY!! I am here for anyone that needs some motivation!! LOVE To help out in anyway shape or form !!!

Onward, I say -- ONWARD!!

January 8th, 2012

Hello Readers,

Yesterday was a LSR day for us. Jennifer and I headed out for a total of 12 miles. WE pulled it off and it was NOTHING like the 15.5 miles that we ran the previous Sunday!! That day was super windy AND cold, this day was not very windy and warmer.

I am currently working on definition in the upper/lower body and also on my base miles. In Feb, I will begin the serious training for my first full EVER. Which will be in May, '12.

Before the full I am thinking I would like to get in at least 3 to 4 other smaller races and one half. I am debating on where to sign up for one, yet, as I have come to notice that the pocket book needs to support my new passion. And to support it that includes, shoes/clothes/doc appts/accessories/cliff shots/ect.... that's alot if you begin to throw in all the race fees and travel to get to them.

This year, I taken a vow to do my family right as well as my health and work on all of the parts of life, this includes the budget. So, with that being said, I may stay much closer to home for the first part of the year to run. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, just a different turn as to where I was before.

I have also put a goal of gaining that personal trainers certificate out there. This way, I am able to make sure that I have some knowledge behind all that I do as well as begin to help others in something I am now passionate about.

One thing I have learned from running, if not life, all GOOD things come SLOWLY. Wish I knew how to apply that to my entire life, yet, I am learning and learning means you are living. So....

Off to living I go.

Today is a rest day, as tomorrow I begin my 2 workouts/day and will ramp back up to over 1000 cal/per day burnt on top of the norm.

What are your goals??? Are you doing your body good in 2012 ?? We only have one body and one life here on earth ( as far as I know ) and we should probably treat ourselves top notch!!!

Onward, dear readers, ONWARD!!
